The Wilhelmina Bridge in Deventer, Overijssel, Netherlands
A steel arch bridge over the IJssel river, built between 1939 and 1943 and named after Queen Wilhelmina. It replaced an older ship bridge and was twice destroyed during WWII, then rebuilt and reopened in 1948. The bridge served as a key part of the E8 route connecting the Netherlands to Germany before highway construction shifted traffic. It spans about 400 meters, carries local road traffic, and sees thousands of cargo and recreational vessels passing underneath each year. The bridge is a historic and strategic landmark for the city and region.
