Located beautifully at the north side of the Oudegaaster Brekken lake, near the village of Oudega in Súdwest-Fryslân, The Netherlands. Built around 1790, this iconic windmill was originally constructed as a polder mill to drain the surrounding land. It is a hollow post mill, a rare Dutch type known regionally as a “spinnenkop.” After falling into disrepair and partial demolition around 1934, dedicated restoration efforts began in 1992, and by 1998 the mill was fully restored and functional again.
