🌳 The Prinsentuin in Groningen - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

The Prinsentuin in Groningen, The Netherlands

A beautiful Renaissance-style garden located behind the historic Prinsenhof building. Laid out in 1626 for the Princes of Nassau, the garden features a rose garden, herb garden, tree tunnels (berceaus), and a sundial with a Latin inscription. It is fully walled, creating a peaceful oasis in the city center.

The garden is open daily, free to enter, and is popular for quiet strolls, reading, and seasonal events like the Poets in the Prinsentuin festival. There is also a tearoom open during good weather.

📍 Location in Prinsentuin, Kattenhage, City centre North, City centre, Centrum, Groningen, Netherlands, 9712 JE, Netherlands
