De Rat is a historic wind-powered sawmill and a landmark in IJlst, Friesland. Originally built in the Zaanstreek region in 1711, it was moved to IJlst in 1828. De Rat is a "stellingmolen" (post mill on a raised base) and remains one of the few wind-driven sawmills in full production today.
